Get To Know Me
Maddy’s interest in architecture and design began early, sparked by her family’s involvement in real estate and home renovations. Growing up in Cedar Rapids, she was surrounded by creativity. Building with Legos, doing arts and crafts, and binge-watching HGTV, which fueled her curiosity about the built environment. That passion guided her to Iowa State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minor in Entrepreneurship in 2025.
What drives Maddy today is the opportunity to create spaces that bring people together and foster genuine connections. Inspired by minimalist designers like Mies van der Rohe, she strives to balance functionality and beauty, believing that simplicity and clarity lead to environments that are both purposeful and deeply meaningful. Her work reflects a desire to design spaces that integrate seamlessly with nature while encouraging human interaction.
Outside of work, Maddy expresses her creativity through decorating, hosting, and tackling home projects. She loves spending time outdoors—walking, hiking, skiing, or being out on the water; finding joy in nature and activities that connect people. Working in Cedar Rapids allows her to give back to the community that shaped her, and she actively mentors youth through teaching, coaching, and serving as a positive role model. Maddy’s favorite way to build connections is through shared experiences that create authentic moments of interaction, whether collaborating on a project or volunteering in the community.
