Get To Know Me

Paul Desmond’s curiosity about architecture and design continues to drive his passion today. What excites him most is the ripple effect of great design, the way a home, a boutique business, or a workplace impacts not only its primary users but also those who experience it indirectly. When someone feels pride in their space, invites others in, or serves their community from a place that inspires them, that influence extends far beyond the walls designed. Paul believes in pursuing excellence and finds joy in using his gifts to create something beautiful and meaningful, embracing even the most challenging projects.

Paul is inspired by residential design because it represents respite, a safe space where people can dream freely and feel protected from the outside world. In commercial work, he loves partnering with small business owners to create environments that support growth, performance, and brand identity for today and the future. Architecturally, Paul is drawn to bold, honest forms that remain human-scaled, with details that celebrate materiality, how surfaces meet and interact with precision. Rather than adhering to a single style, he focuses on proportion, refined use of materials, and the experience of moving through a space. Paul has learned from firms like One 10 Studio and OPN and admires studios such as Marlon Blackwell, Archimania, Eldorado, and Dake Wells for their commitment to craft and community impact.

Outside of work, Paul is first a husband and father, roles that challenge and fulfill him more than anything else. He cherishes time with his family and strives to model curiosity and resilience for his two adventurous daughters. Paul values giving back through time, talent, and treasure, supporting underserved communities and creating opportunities for others to thrive. His favorite way to connect with clients is through vulnerability, sharing stories, dreams, and challenges, and listening deeply to what inspires them and what they hope to achieve.

Fun Fact

Paul has traveled to 35 countries studying architecture, interiors, and design, with Norway, Cambodia, and England ranking as his top three favorites. He admires Norway’s communal design excellence, Cambodia’s rich history and resilient spirit, and England’s unique blend of crafted urban design and stunning natural landscapes.
