The Opportunity
Lantern Hill offered the chance to create a home that intentionally slows the rhythm of daily life. Subtle elevation shifts, long views, and the movement of daylight shaped the design approach, inviting a residence that feels grounded and quietly self‑assured. The opportunity was to reinterpret familiar residential forms through disciplined simplicity; crafting spaces that are warm, calm, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
The Solution
A central spine organizes everyday living; the entry, kitchen, dining, and gathering spaces aligned to capture changing light throughout the day. Private rooms extend from this sequence, offering moments of retreat without interrupting flow. Gabled massing, clean rooflines, and carefully edited openings establish clarity, while warm woods, contextual textures, and tactile surfaces soften the architectural precision. The result is a home that balances structure with lived‑in comfort.
The Impact
From the street, the home reads as composed and familiar, with layered porches, deep openings, and planted edges creating a welcoming refuge.
